Moberly man arrested after Dec. 21 alleged assault and shots fired

On the morning of Dec. 21, Moberly police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Emerson St at Collins Ave.

Police say the victim was assaulted with a baseball bat and being shot at twice by 22-year-old Jacob Redifer. Redifer fled the scene in a vehicle prior to the officer’s arrival.

Officials say video surveillance in the area caught the incident.

While searching for the suspect, police found Redifer's vehilce at a rural Randolph County residence.

Moberly police took Redifer into custody Thursday afternoon without incident.

Redifer is currently being held at the Randolph County Justice Center on the related warrant.

Redifer is charged with 1st-degree assault, armed criminal action, 2nd-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

Redifer has a $100,000 cash/surety bond.
