Man arrested for burglary Monday afternoon after victim witnesses thefts

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia Police arrested Lawrence Johnson for burglary and resisting arrest Monday afternoon.

According to court documents, the victim returned home to an apartment on the 1600 block of University Ave and witnessed a man exiting his apartment with the victim's belongings.

The victim told police he witnessed Johnson run.

Police then found a man matching the burglary suspect's description walking down Wilson Ave according to court documents. Police reported yelling 'Hey' at Johnson and Johnson running away.

Johnson was taken into custody and the victim identified him in a photograph.

Johnson also has two active warrants for failure to appear.
