Roads remain flooded Wednesday

BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Roads across mid-Missouri remained flooded Wednesday morning after rain plagued the area Tuesday.

Boone County's 911 center added several warnings for flooded roads around 6:15 a.m. Wednesday including Gillespie Bridge and Akeman Bridge Roads along the Perche Creek.

On Tuesday, emergency crews closed several roads including Strawn Road in west Columbia and Creasy Springs Road in north Columbia.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported several flooded roads in Howard and Audrain counties on its Traveler Information map as well.

Missouri State Highway Patrol reminded drivers Tuesday not to drive over flooded roadways or around barricades because even a few inches of water can sweep away a vehicle.
