No. 13 Kentucky blows past Mizzou women’s basketball

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The difficult season for the Mizzou women's basketball team continued as (13) Kentucky defeated the Tigers, 62-47.

With the loss, the Tigers fall to 5-16 overall (2-6 SEC). Mizzou has now played six top-25 ranked teams in 2020.

Mizzou struggled offensively and scored just 17 points in the first half. The Tigers had a difficult time from deep and made just 11 percent of threes all night. The Tigers also turned the ball over 20 times, while Kentucky's best player, Rhyne Howard, did not play due to injury.

Freshman Aijha Blackwell was one of the lone bright spots leading the team with 17 points and nine rebounds. Amber Smith scored 12 points and had seven rebounds.

The schedule does not get any easier as the Tigers face 20th ranked Arkansas at home on Sunday at 4 p.m.
