Several crashes reported around Columbia, Boone County during winter storm

Emergency responders handled several calls for car crashes amid a Sunday winter storm.

Boone County Joint Communications, which relays emergency calls to public safety agencies, issued several advisories for crashes.

As of 9 p.m., the department sent 12 different notifications for crashes around the county and city of Columbia.

Local agencies include the Columbia fire and police departments, Boone County Sheriff's Department, Boone County Fire Protection District, Southern Boone County Fire Protection District and more.

The Boone County Fire Protection District said as of 9 p.m., it had responded to nine crashes.

The University of Missouri Police Department responded to a crash on Rock Quarry Road around 2 p.m. Crews shut down the road.

MUPD and a tow truck responded to reports of a vehicle collision on Rock Quarry Road on Sunday.
