Jefferson City chase causes multiple crashes

Ptah Watson is arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 30 after he allegedly led police on a chase through Jefferson City and Callaway County.

The Jefferson City Police Department arrested one person after they led police on a chase from West Ashley Street into Callaway County.

Police tried to contact Ptah A. Watson while they were conducting a warrant investigation in the 300 block of West Ashley Street, according to a news release from the Jefferson City Police Department. Watson then led police on a chase in his vehicle that crossed into Callaway County.

During the chase, Watson caused several other crashes, the news release said. No one was hurt in any of the crashes.

The Callaway County Sheriff's Office was able to deploy spike strips and stop Watson's vehicle, the news release said.

Watson was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, leaving the scene of an accident and driving while suspended or revoked. He was taken to the Cole County Jail.
