Fire causes $30,000 in damage to Columbia residence

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Columbia Fire Department responded to a structure fire on the 400 block of North Eighth Street just before 6 p.m. Monday.

Officials say crews received reports of a fire on the exterior of a residence.

A Columbia fire marshal investigated the fire and located a malfunction in an electrical source as the cause of the fire.

Officials say damage to the residence is estimated at $30,000.

The fire was brought under control in approximately 20 minutes

No one was hurt during the incident.
