Attic fire damages medical clinic in Sturgeon

STURGEON, Mo. (KMIZ)

Boone County firefighters responded to a building with smoke coming out of the eaves on the 200 block of North Ogden St. in Sturgeon at 1:17 p.m.

Assistant Chief for Boone County Fire Gale Blomenkamp says employees turned on the furnace at the Sturgeon Medical Clinic and reported the smoke.

Firefighters from Sturgeon arrived on the scene to see smoke pouring out of the eaves of the building and entered the structure to look for it. Crews found fire in the attic and extinguished it.

Assistant Chief Blomenkamp reported no one was injured in the fire.

Assistant Chief Blomenkamp says only smoke damage was reported and the structure is not a total loss.
