Jefferson City School District names three new principals for elementary schools

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City School District has announced the hiring of three elementary school principals for the upcoming school year.

● Chris Schmitz will be the new principal for Moreau Heights Elementary
● Delora Scaggs will be the new principal for Thorpe Gordon Elementary
● Dr. Dawn Day will be the new principal for West Elementary.

“Moreau Heights, Thorpe Gordon, and West elementary schools will undoubtedly benefit from these three terrific leaders,” Lorie Rost, JC Schools Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education said. “I am confident that the individuals chosen for these roles are well-equipped to keep their schools headed in the right direction. Our elementary schools are making so much progress, and we are looking forward to these new principals continuing the academic, behavioral, and culture-building work that is needed in the years to come.”
