Gov. Mike Parson announced Thursday that the state plans to move forward with its vaccination distribution plan. Starting next week, teachers and school staff will become eligible to receive a coronavirus vaccine as part of Phase 1B Tier 3.

Education department officials provided COVID-19 updates and information in regards to vaccine availability and vaccinations during the webinar.

The state is requesting districts to fill out an online survey about plans for staff vaccinations. DESE has requested all districts to submit staff vaccination plans by Friday.

DESE advises education leaders to work with local health departments, hospitals and health systems to sign-up staff members for vaccine appointments.

The department also advises staff members and others who become eligible in Phase 1B Tier 3 to get registered for a vaccine on the state vaccine navigator site.
