Boone Electric restores power after morning outage

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

UPDATE: The outage was restored by 1:30 p.m. A squirrel was the cause, the utility reported.

ORIGINAL: Boone County Electric Cooperative lineworkers were trying to restore power to about 600 customers in the Columbia area Wednesday afternoon.

The utility reported on its online outage map that 600 customers were being affected by four outages at noon Wednesday. The cooperative said on Twitter that the outages were affecting customers along Route Z and St. Charles Road south of Interstate 70.

At noon crews were on their way to fix the problem.
