Jefferson City Police looking for gas station shooting suspect

UPDATE 3:50 P.M.: Jefferson City Police are looking for Xavies Parks, 25, after an early morning shooting.

Parks was identified as the shooter according to a Jefferson City Police department release.

Jefferson City Police released surveillance footage of the shooting.

Officials say Parks should be considered armed and dangerous.

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Police Department is investigating an early Wednesday shooting that left one man injured.

Department spokesman Lt. David Williams said SWAT officers detained one person at an apartment complex.

Police were called to the Break Time located at 326 Ellis Blvd. shortly after 3 a.m.

According to a news release, a man in his early twenties was transported to an area hospital with gunshot wounds. He was later transferred to University Hospital in Columbia.

Williams said SWAT officers responded to the Hidden Oak apartment complex "attempting to locate a subject as a result of the shooting investigation."

The police spokesman was not able to say what led officers to the apartment complex because the shooting is under investigation.

Police do not believe the shooting was random, the release said.
