13 pounds of marijuana seized during I-70 traffic stop in Cooper County

COOPER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a driver Wednesday morning after a traffic stop leads to a drug seizure.

Officials say the driver was pulled over for following someone too close on Interstate 70.

A trooper then pulled the driver over and reportedly could smell burnt marijuana.

Officials say the vehicle was searched and 13 pounds of marijuana were found vacuum-sealed in the trunk.

The marijuana was reportedly being transported from Colorado to Tennessee.

The driver is charged with delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
