Marissa Hollowed feels right at home living in Columbia, Missouri and is thrilled to be back! 
Marissa grew up in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. She went to college at Mizzou and graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism. 


In college, Marissa interned at NBC News in New York. There she worked for the TODAY Show, Nightly News and Dateline. 


After college, Marissa started her tv career as a morning anchor and reporter at WPSD-TV in Paducah, Kentucky. 


While in Kentucky, she shot, wrote, edited and produced a documentary series based out of Kandaria, Kenya. The series won "Best Documentary" from the Kentucky Associated Press. 
Next, she worked as evening anchor at ABC 17 News. While at ABC 17, Marissa was awarded "Best News Anchor" by the Missouri Broadcasters Association. 


Marissa left Columbia to move to Saint Louis. She's glad she did because that's where she met her husband!


In Saint Louis, she worked as morning co-anchor for "News 4 This Morning" at KMOV. 
In addition to tv news, Marissa is a professional voiceover actress and is the voice of a meditation app. 
Marissa taught lectures on "TV Reporting" at the University of Missouri School of Journalism before joining the ABC 17 News team in September of 2022. 


When she's not reporting the news, you can find Marissa enjoying time outdoors with her husband and two young sons.
